Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take equity?
No. We don’t take any equity from your company. Scale SEE is focused on helping you connect with mentors, investors and customers. Mentors who you choose to work with after the program, will want to have advisory shares in your company (1%-5% typical advisory shares)
What stage should my startup be at?
We’re looking for startups that are already generating some revenue (even if it’s small) and are ready to scale to the US market. We are also looking at pre-revenue startups with high potential for growth.
Do I need to be based in Southeast Europe?
Not necessarily. Scale SEE is specifically designed for B2B startups from the Southeast Europe or founders from that region looking to expand to the US market, but they don’t have to be physcically living in SEE. We often have founders living in the US as well.
What happens after the 3 month program?
You’ll have ongoing access to our network, continued advisory support from any mentors you’ve worked with if you’ve signed contracts with them, and the Scale SEE community for life. Many Batch #1 companies still meet monthly with their advisors and will be joining the RiSEE Summit as well.
Is this remote or in-person?
It’s hybrid. The first part which is 12 weeks of workshops are remote/virtual. Then we have an intensive in-person immersion in Belgrade from 29th of May until 5th of June, along with the RiSEE Summit during the 4th and 5th of June. The top performer also wins a trip to San Francisco for 2 weeks.
How much does it cost?
The first 20 startups that get into the 12 weeks program don’t pay anything. After the 12 weeks, we select top 8 startups to join the Belgrade Immersion Week. Top 8 startups pay 1000 EUR for participation in the Belgrade Immersion Week and RiSEE Summit.
